Facing Reality

“When Things got hard, you started looking for something to blame. Like a Big Shadow.
Let me tell you something you already know…

The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently IF YOU LET IT…

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But It ain’t about how hard you hit… it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much can you take and keep moving forward? THAT’S HOW WINNING IS DONE!

Now if you know what you’re worth, Go out and Get What Your Worth, But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. COWARDS DO THAT AND THAT AIN’T YOU! YOU’RE BETTER THAN THAT.”

rocky balboa

These are words from a Father to a Son, and of course it may have come out from a super movie, but lets read it again and compare it to todays living.  Rocky Balboa advised his son with this inspirational words and honestly, I can take this to the bank because it hits me in the face every day.  How many of you get hit so bad that you fall down and blame someone else for the fall instead of getting back up and fighting hard to get on top.

I see a whole lot of us get lazy and get defeated in that atmosphere for failing.  Everyone who has succeeded today had failed one time or many in their lives.  Some of them got to the top with bruises and great lessons learnt that falling again will not occur the way they did the first time, if it happens again that is.  Some fell and never bothered to fight back but blamed the system, their mother in law, father in law, best friend, colleague at work, competitors etc.

The next prefered solution is to meet with the man of God or any spiritual power who will rest your soul with those encouraging words, Pray about it, or make certain sacrifices. Yes, we all pray about it. But the Mighty God also expects us to get up and work for him to bless the works of our hands.

I am definitely not against the church but I am flabbergasted at the rate some of this new churches grow in riches and the followers get busy running from church to church because they did not get their blessings after they have continuously paid their tithes, pledges, offerings and all the spiritual demands.  then you get blamed for not having enough faith to get your blessings.  Can you beat that? the pastor knows what God said to you and said it to your face, you don’t have faith but yet you sowed.

Back to my featured quote.  “You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But It ain’t about how hard you hit… it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much can you take and keep moving forward? THAT’S HOW WINNING IS DONE!”  Life is here to hit you and that’s how you grow in it and make success out of it.  I listened to a preacher talk about Work and Job.

This explains a lot.  If you don’t make yourself  the “work” how will you get the “job”? simply put, if you don’t qualify with a skill to do a job, the job will not come to you and if it does by crook, you wont succeed.  Why pray for a miracle when you don’t know how to keep it or take care of it.  When you lose it, it becomes ” they don’t like me” then where is your strength?

Fellas, please note that we all have been given talents to succeed in life, how you use yours determines how you succeed.  you can’t succeed by praying alone, you gotta work.  Get beat and get up and win, take the hit, no one will give you Roses and not expect something back. Even our God expects something back from you.  Worship and Praise.  All the money you have in this world came from him.  He said, Give unto Ceazer wat is Ceazer’s and to God what is Gods’

2 Timothy 4: 3-4: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their  own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables.

Get it.

“Now if you know what you’re worth, Go out and Get What Your Worth, But you gotta be willing to take the hits. And not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody. COWARDS DO THAT AND THAT AIN’T YOU! YOUR BETTER THEN THAT.” Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone)

A Surprise Christmas for Joseph as Santa Visits and Fun at Akodo

Lets be mindful of our actions. God has good intentions for us and he speaks to everyone. All we need to do is listen and we will hear him.

Walking with Kings - Wilfred Oluku's Blog

December 22nd 2012 was not the same compared to the years before for the Big little man Joseph Oluku has had, He has been filled with expectation for everything from this Christmas except the surprise of Santa.  Thanks to the Concept of Tender Stars Schools, Joseph has been a student of Tender Stars and currently in Year one.

My wife had requested we attended the enf of Year Party at the Hermitage Beach Resort at Akodo and we were supposed to have left since the hours of 0800.   But as it is with most of the lovely ladies who would leave no stone unattended to, she decides to cook. Yes Cook.  I don’t k now why, but it happened and the cooking lasted for as long as the afternoon came.

I was sitting in  the living room just waiting for the time I will hear those words, “I am ready” then I heard the sound…

Play Make The Pastor Rich Game

I have always said this and I know Somehow and some way, we will open our eyes and know the truth.  Marketing is a very useful tool to making money and when you know how to market, you can indeed sell Ice to the Eskimos, as the saying goes.

In these times where some pastors are busy selling God all in the name of preaching salvation, our ladies, wives, mothers and indeed sisters fall victim, total gullibility in the hands of this sweet talking men of their own god. We have all seen with our own eyes the ways in which people show the images of women who fall under the spell of some of these men.  Where will you find women now? Yep! Right answer, the churches.  Programs never ends.  Sunday School, Morning services, second services, third service, evening service, mid week service, Tuesdays morning services, Friday night vigil, midnight choir practice, women night vigil, expectant mothers night vigil, kill the devil, protect our husbands, open doors and the program lists goes on.

The study of the bible can be achieved by any man or woman. In the past, when we study the bible, we are excited because we are told how Jesus came to die for our sins and how he loved us.  Look at today, some of the teachings don’t make us believe that Jesus did not do enough, so we are knocking at his door to ask him to come back now so we can kill him again.

Husbands don’t have the pleasure of spending a romantic evening with their wives unless they can speak in tongues.  And a lot of men out here go along with the pretence of I am in the spirit. Whereas, they are letting it happen for the freedom to be alone, or go to church and see that pretty devil, change numbers and meet in that secret place.  I am not exaggerating as you may think I am making up these stories.  I would not dare name churches but some of us who know the truth would attest to this.

Let’s discuss the open items.  The internet, the mobile phones with video cams have captured and displayed many of these things.  Pastors making love to peoples wives, the recent one I watched is so disturbing.  A woman being made love to and asked to say things that in her mind will get her pregnant. And yes, she stays there enjoying every bit of the fun not aware she was being recorded. Now she may not know this, but she is a qualified Porn star.

We are all humans with insatiable quest for sex.  We can only hold back when we make our minds hold back.  Even the bible says it. We sin from the mind not even from the touch. (rephrased for my understanding) but when will we be able to understand the meaning of God’s love. Why do we sell God.  I will touch on some of these issues that bother me.  I know some out there will crucify me for this.  But note this, we did not start religion, we did not know how the bible was written, we were told and we believed. I believe, and I must assure you, God has been the one protecting me all my life.

Why do we sell God?

People perish for lack of wisdom.  A man feels he is called to do Gods work and he starts the Journey.  His followers start growing.  He attends bible school and maybe sometimes not at all. But understands the teachings from his early days.  Then he penetrates the locals and says there is power in the word.  You have been searching for a break through and god has sent me to tell you your time has come. Now tell me, who won’t listen?  The use of the name of God has provided an avenue to listen.  Then he goes into the scripture in the manner in which you will reaffirm what you have known all your life.

Note this.  We have all gone through a lot of things growing up.  The most common things we all grew up with are: we were given birth to by a woman.  She was impregnated by a man.  Every woman has the automatic defence system in protecting their household, and they will do anything to achieve this.  If I come to a woman and say, your husband is going to die. Her automatic response is to call for help. She has not even seen the type of death.  If she was told by a pastor the same thing. She will visit him every day and night for a solution. The Pastor automatically turns to a god.  Hope the husband does not fall ill with Malaria, then the pastors words have just come to reality. Enemies are trying kill the husband.  Then comes the demand from the wife to save the husband. Rambo. Pastor draws up a time table for the following: Prayers at night. Psalms to read, oil to anoint, and most of all. Bring the husband to church for prayers.  If you succeed, the husband must make a donation to assist the church. If he is wealthy, the church as struck Gold. If he is not wealthy, your prayers are not strong enough. But a promise of faith is unleashed.

Did you ever read the Nigerian god?  I will post that soon.

Secondly, when we come off age, forget the teenage life, what we crave for there is adventure.  When we start getting the liberty to experience life, we now see the spirituality of life.  The evil lurks, we cannot get sick, not even a headache. Not even stress, it is the devil, we lose our jobs for the sake of incompetence, we say it’s the devil, we buy things we don’t need and then get broke since they don’t yield any income, we say the devil.  How did the likes of Bill Gates, Warran Buffet, or am I going too far? Ok Abiola, Dangote, Cosmos Maduka, Cosharis get rich. Hard work and commitment to getting there.  Some of these pastors preach that you don’t need to work hard as the bible says My Lord will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory, Phil 4.19.  Funny this coincides with the Nigerian Constitution of the section 419 of the criminal code of the Federal republic of Nigeria. Obtaining by false Pretence.

419.      Any person who by any false pretence, and with intent to defraud, obtains from any other person anything capable of being stolen, or induces any other person to deliver to any person anything capable of being stolen, is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for three years.

If the thing is of the value of one thousand naira or upwards, he is liable to imprisonment for seven years.

It is immaterial that the thing is obtained or its delivery is induced through the medium of a contract induced by the false pretence.

The offender cannot be arrested without warrant unless found committing the offence.

Now, the Lord made his promise. And His promise is true.  We turn Gods promise to obtain by false pretence to defraud people who are searching for the love and help of God.  Why can’t these pastors teach about business opportunities? Why can’t they create a wealth factory where people can find the wisdom to create wealth?  But rather the teaching is that of miraculous wealth. Urging the weakest links to believe that their destinies are being obstructed because they did not pray hard enough, nor tithe enough, or made offerings enough.

to be continued…

A Surprise Christmas for Joseph as Santa Visits and Fun at Akodo

I was sitting in  the living room just waiting for the time I will hear those words, “I am ready” then I heard the sound of a church bell cling, cling followed by a chorus of a Christmas Carol.  I almost ran into the room as I expected nothing of such not even in my compound.  I did not have to go too far when the beautiful colors of Santa walked into my home.  It was the Santa of the Tender Stars School, followed by the School Proprietress and the entire staff with beautiful smiles and the continuous song of Christmas.

Joseph had to pick his Jaw from the floor as he was speechless when they walked in.  His smile could have torn his face apart as it was the brightest smile I could see on a lovely day as this.  I was glad.

Mrs Ali made the day as I later got to know that every student of Tender Stars School was visited.  This took a lot of effort, Fuel when the country lacks it. time from the dedicated staff and a few students who were  personally been taken care of by Mrs Ali. God bless this woman. She is more than a school owner, she is a   mother to these children.

Well, we went to Akodo eventually, but met the end of year party at the end of the party.  I already made plans knowing too well the outcome of our trip.  I booked us into the Eko Tourist Hotel just a few meters away from the Hermitage Beach Resort.  This turned out to be more exciting than the end of year party.

We bonded with another company having their end of year get together and became a welcomed guest.  Guess who was hosting?.  It was the Bolaji Rosiji Company – Gaurapad.  In all of this,  It was a wonderful Saturday to a joyous Sunday

We had fun, at least I am pretty sure they had more fun.  I was calculating as you will  probably have guessed. January is around the corner. It was fantastic.

Anyways, the fun continues….

Lies Women Tell

Top 10 lies women tell their men
Posted by Editor Copy
from The Frisky

That is the truth. Sometimes (gasp!), They lie. Most of the time, though, these are little white lies, half-truths told to keep the peace. Other times, our lies are a little bigger — say, for example, when the subject is sex.

Ah, women. So mysterious! So enigmatic! They have more layers than an onion. And men, poor, poor men. Left to figure them out all on their own. Sorry! They don’t mean to be confusing. They just are. While many of them strive to be honest, truthful, and forthright, they do not always tell the truth. That is the truth. Sometimes (gasp!), they lie. Most of the time, though, these are little white lies, half-truths told to keep the peace. Other times, our lies are a little bigger — say, for example, when the subject is sex. In honor of National Honesty Day, here’s a cheat sheet of the mistruths that are most likely to come out of a woman’s mouth, and what men can learn about the lies, the sweet little lies, that women tell. (Don’t worry — we’ve got lies dudes tell coming later today…)

1. ”I’ve slept with [X] guys.” Maybe she rounds up. Maybe she rounds down. Maybe she can’t remember. Whatever the case may be, more than a few women have lied about how many sexual partners they’ve had. Maybe she feels self-conscious. Maybe her number is higher than yours. To increase the likelihood she’ll tell the truth, make her confess first.

2. “That was great.” Listen, nobody’s pointing fingers. Sometimes bad sex is a no-fault proposition. But if it’s not good for her, it’s altogether possible she may not be enlightening you on that matter. Whether she’s just not that into it tonight or she’s just not that into you, it’s hard for some women to be frank about sex, especially when the news isn’t good. Rely on her body language instead.

3. ”I have never nor would I ever cheat on you.” Do you remember that show on VH1, “Tough Love: Couples“? The number one cause of screaming fights? Cheating. Or, more specifically, lying about cheating. It’s not easy to tell someone when you’ve messed up; the fallout can be brutal. Remember: What you don’t know can spare you.

4. “I weight [X].” Here’s the thing. Women don’t lie about their weight because of you. Their reasons for doing it have everything to do with them. Not all women lie about their weight, but some do, and they do it for all kinds of reasons. Because they want to weigh less, because they want to weigh more, because they’re not sure and that number sounds about right. Women and their weight are a mysterious relationship with which you may not want to interfere. Take her word for it.

5. “Sure, you can call me.” Sometimes, when we’re face-to-face with a guy, and he’s asking us out on a first or for a second date, it’s tough to, er, woman-up and say, “You know what? Um, no.” We don’t want to be heartbreakers. We want to be nice. We’re sure you’ll get the message when we never call you back.

6. “I’ll be ready in a minute.” Listen, if before you left the house to go out on a date, you had to shower, shave half your body, slather yourself in moisturizer, apply 99 overpriced products, put on several layers of makeup, flat-iron your hair, pick out the perfect outfit that makes you look sophisticated/sexy/spectacular, it would take you a long time to get ready, too. So, wait.

7. “I don’t know.” We don’t know (ha!) if we’re going to get a lot of agreement on this one, but we are of the opinion that a lot of times when a woman says, “I don’t know,” she does, in fact, know. Women are intuitive like a nuclear power plant is radioactive, and it is upon our internal sonars that we rely. Mostly, we do know. We may not be ready to tell you.

8. “That was delicious!” If you cooked, we don’t care how it tastes. We will tell you we love it. Love us for that.

9. “I’m fine.” We’re going to go out on a limb here and suggest this is the single most common lie told by women to men. Or, you know, at the very least it’s the lie we’ve told most often to men. We are emotional creatures! Sometimes, we get upset! Maybe it’s because our Aries is in your Venus, maybe it’s because we got promoted at work and we’re scared as hell about living up to our own lofty goals, or maybe we’re in a mood. It’s up to you to figure out if you want to walk into our minefield or keep a safe distance away. Usually, your best bet is listening.

10. “It was on sale.” It wasn’t. Deal with it.
